Hi! I am Jill F. K. Frese - The Charm City Chaplain

How it all started…

My first wedding was my sisters, well actually, my ‘seesters’. Growing up, my brothers best friend Nicole was always around and one day we thought and hoped she might marry my brother. Unbeknownst to our family, Nicole was carrying around a secret she thought her family and small town would not be accepting of. After high school and college, she decided to come out to the world during graduate school when she met the love of her life. Sadly, Nicole’s parents, as she thought, did not support her. Cue: new sister for me! Our family adopted her (and her brother) as one of our own, and we couldn’t have been happier to do so! Fast forward several years to Nicole getting engaged to her now wife, Laura, and planning a destination wedding in Florida as Michigan had not yet legalized same-sex marriages. The two of them wanted someone who loved and supported them to officiate their wedding, and like Katniss in the Hunger Games (but with joy and excitement), I volunteered without hesitation. It was the greatest honor and privilege I have had to this day. Now, I choose to pay this gift of being a non-denominational ordained reverend forward. She found her lobster, and to all those seeking to spend forever with someone, or anyone, I am here to make your day special, inclusive, and perfect. This was in 2016.

Fast forward a few weddings full of a LOT of compliments and happy tears…

I am a nurse by trade and believe my soul purpose in life is to help and encourage others. While obtaining my Masters Degree in nursing and having a bit of free time, I found that it was the perfect time to expand my method of helping others by sharing the gift of matrimony. Putting my heart into each ceremony, I strive for uniqueness, simplicity, and meeting your vision of the perfect service. I value getting to know my clients in preparation of being a part of one of the biggest days of their lives, and try to incorporate a subtle element of surprise for the couple to make the day special and with an unrehearsed feeling.

I share my free time with friends and family, my pets, reading, running, and filling my brain with all of the medical-science I can. I grew up in Michigan and travel there with my husband as often as possible to visit. We LOVE to travel, and recently set out to complete 12 trips in 12 months, overachieving our goal by 5 trips! It was an amazing year and I am so blessed and grateful to have such an amazing partner to see this beautiful earth with. I am an open book, please feel free to inquire with any questions.

I am ordained through the Universal Life Church, and have participated in their wedding ceremony training, and actively maintain my membership. My credentials are fully and legally licensed in Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., and Virginia (individual county/State laws for Virginia may apply), and most all other states. Please inquire if you have any questions about a state or my credentials.
